Reference (9 functions)

API reference

mechanism(name, owner_file, inspectable, status)

Builds one registry entry describing a single platform-fabric mechanism.

print mechanism("Test Mechanism", "src/example.ven", yes, "available")
:: prints: {"name": "Test Mechanism", "owner_file": "src/example.ven", "inspectable": yes, "status": "available"}

gpu_mechanism_status()

Gives back the GPU backend layer's live, honest status text.

print gpu_mechanism_status()
:: prints (under the native VM, on a machine with a GPU): available (device: Apple M5; backends: metal, opencl, vulkan)

npu_mechanism_status()

Gives back the NPU abstraction's live, honest status text.

print npu_mechanism_status()
:: prints: not implemented on either virtual machine

accelerator_mechanism_status()

Gives back the general accelerator abstraction's live, honest status text.

print accelerator_mechanism_status()
:: prints: no general, device-class-agnostic accelerator abstraction exists (not implemented yet)

simd_mechanism_status()

Gives back the SIMD abstraction's live, honest status text.

print simd_mechanism_status()
:: prints: not implemented on either virtual machine

virtualization_mechanism_status()

Gives back the hardware virtualization abstraction's live, honest status text.

print virtualization_mechanism_status()
:: prints: no hardware-virtualization/hypervisor capability exists (not implemented yet)

platform_fabric_mechanisms()

print length(platform_fabric_mechanisms())
:: prints: 16

platform_fabric_summary()

Gives back the registry's total and inspectable mechanism counts as a map.

print platform_fabric_summary()
:: prints: {"total": 16, "inspectable": 1}

platform_fabric_report()

Builds the full human-readable registry report as a single Text value.

report = platform_fabric_report()
print contains(report, "Domain 029 (platform fabric) mechanism registry.")
print contains(report, "1 of 16 mechanism(s) are inspectable from Venutian source today.")
:: prints: yes
:: prints: yes
